The Higher Institute of Applied Arts in 6th of October City is a private higher institute affiliated with the Cultural Services Association for the Care of Arts, which is famous under No. 1173 of 1994 and is subject to the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education. The Institute was established by Ministerial Resolution No. 1448 of 1994. The Institute grants a bachelor’s degree in applied arts and the equivalent from the Supreme Council of Universities to the bachelor’s degree awarded by Egyptian universities. The Institute’s management has taken the initiative to sign several agreements in the field of scientific cooperation, joint research, and graduate studies with a number of highly reputable universities.
In addition to the scientific methodology that was approved by the Sector Committee of the Supreme Council of Universities and qualifies the graduate to be able to be creative in the field of design and applied arts, to be qualified in rare fields and branches according to the institute’s specializations through four main axes:
The first axis: - It is concerned with studying methods for solving design and technological problems of interior design and furniture by employing all applied and plastic arts and sciences related to the specialization through the Department of Interior Decoration and Architecture.
The second axis: It is concerned with studying the disciplines of graphics, advertising arts, and modern visual arts techniques, using contemporary communication theories in a technical and aesthetic manner through the Graphic and Advertising Arts Department.
The third axis: - It is concerned with studying industrial design in its various design and technological fields and specializations to innovate and develop the product in accordance with its purposes and functional efficiency, achieving originality and modernity through the Industrial Design Department.
The fourth axis: It is concerned with studying fashion arts in the fields of fashion design and its accessories, weaving, textile printing, upholstery, dyeing, accessory and jewelry design in various design and technological aspects through the Fashion Department.
